Body Image & Eating Disorders

You leave your home for the day second-guessing your outfit or hungry from skipping breakfast. You

go out for dinner with friends and spend more time counting calories than enjoying the company. Your

mood for the entire day is determined by a number on a scale and which direction it is headed.

You feel ashamed when you enjoy certain foods...in fact you feel so ashamed you probably

don't enjoy them even when you eat them.

Christy Harrison, writes in her book Anti-Diet: Reclaim Your Time, Money, Well-Being, and Happiness

Through Intuitive Eating, “[Diet culture] keeps us too hungry, too fixated on our bodies, and too

caught up in the minutiae of our eating regimens to focus our energies on changing the world.”

If this feels at all true for you, I'd love to meet you. I believe you can feel safe and comfortable in

your body and confident in who you are. That may sound like a stretch right now, and that's ok.

My work with body image and eating disorders focuses first on "body neutrality" and leans on the

principles of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size to gently help you and your body learn to

get along again. Whether you have struggled with an eating disorder for years or just want to find

some relief from the constant inner critic, I want to hear what you have to say.

I bring years of Director-level eating disorder leadership and experience not only with my own

clients, but in coaching and mentoring therapists, nurses, and registered dietitians in the field. You deserve a therapist who is skilled, compassionate, and tuned in to your unique needs. Give me a call or fill out the contact form below to see if we are a good fit!
